Stswecem’c Xget-tem First Nation leadership signed an exploration agreement with Tempus Resources recently, to permit exploration at the Blackdome Gold Mine.
After acquiring the Blackdome project in late 2019, during the summer of 2020, Tempus completed an initial 5,000 metre drilling program at Blackdome, followed by a desktop study in August 2021, which indicated that previous mining activity was restricted to certain depths and that additional mineral deposits could be located with further exploration. The Blackdome Gold Mine operated from 1985 to 1991 and produced approximately 230,000 oz. of gold.
