The Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation is looking for a Health Director Liaison/Administrative Support to work with the Health Directors/Leads of the northern Secwepemc First Nations Communities. The position is part-time, 24 hours per week remote work. The Health Director/Administrative Support will be responsible for ensuring resources are shared in a timely manner, assisting with the development of communications and informational materials, and assisting with operational needs and contact tracing as required. The individual will be accountable to the SXFN Senior Manager of Health and Social Development through direct professional supervision. The position is a part-time position for the period of one year from the start date, with the potential of extension contingent on funding.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
  • Build relationships, establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally
  • Strong facilitation, planning, and coordinating skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal health systems, and First Nations health system needs
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively utilize Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Familiar with Secwepemc culture and traditions

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma or Degree in a health field, human services, administrative-technical focus, community planning, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience

Training:

  • Training will be provided to support the development and technical skills required for this position.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 year’s experience with project management, planning or health services work, preferably in a First Nations setting
  • Experience working with First Nations communities/organizations, including leadership

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Criminal Records Check
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle
  •  Must be able to work flexible hours and travel as required
